The Doctor

Donald V. Nix, D.D.S.

Dr. Nix graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in chemistry and received his DDS in 1979 from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry. After finishing a one-year general practice residency at the Dallas VA Medical Center, Dr. Nix then entered a four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital and affiliates. The first year of his program was dedicated to a residency in anesthesiology. He completed his training in 1984. At that time he began private practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery in the Plano, Allen, and McKinney corridor, and has been faithfully serving this area ever since. Dr. Nix is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He has served as an officer in the Fourth District Dental Society, is a past president of the North Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and is a member of numerous professional societies and organizations. 

Family

Dr. Nix has been married to his wife, Cathy, since 1984 and they have five active boys ranging in age from 16 to 24.  Cathy can usually be found volunteering at school or lending a hand in our offices.

Dr. Nix and Cathy have lived in this area for over 30 years and are very active in their church and their community.  And then there are the sports...  Dr. Nix and Cathy always seem to be somewhere cheering on one of the boys.  Aside from excelling in other sports, all of the boys are outstanding swimmers and have earned local, regional, state, and national recognition.

Dr. Nix enjoys sponsoring area sports teams and he always looks forward to the medical mission trips he takes to help those in need.

Having children of his own makes him aware of today's kids and their unique needs and he looks forward to serving your family.
